The insurance package, developed through collaboration between the Consulate General of India in Dubai, Nexus Insurance Brokers, and Dubai National Insurance (DNI), includes:

- Disability Benefits: Both partial and full disability coverage included
- Repatriation Support: Up to Dh12,000 allocated for transporting mortal remains
- Annual Premium: Just Dh32 for Dh35,000 coverage
- Worldwide Protection: Coverage applies regardless of location or work status
Bridging Critical Insurance Gaps
This initiative addresses a significant void in worker protection. While most companies provide health insurance and workers’ compensation for work-related incidents, natural death coverage was previously not mandatory. This left many families without financial support in such cases.
Future Extensions and Options
Nexus Insurance Brokers plans to expand the programme with additional coverage tiers:
- Dh50,000 coverage for Dh50 annual premium
- Dh75,000 coverage for Dh75 annual premium
- Dh100,000 coverage for Dh100 annual premium
The scheme may also extend to workers of other nationalities, making it a more inclusive insurance solution.
Digital Literacy Initiative
Adding to these welfare measures, the Indian mission is launching a free multilingual online digital literacy programme for Indian workers, further supporting their wellbeing in the UAE.
