  2. Log in using UAE Pass
  3. Access your profile
  4. Start the application process
  5. Upload your accredited training certificate

License Types and Requirements

Pleasure License

  • For private boat owners
  • Suitable for recreational use
  • Basic theoretical exam required

Commercial License

  • Required for business vessels
  • Mandatory for tourist yachts and floating restaurants
  • Additional practical test required
  • Includes crowd management certification for vessels carrying 50+ passengers

Age Requirements by Vessel Size

  • 16 years: Boats up to 12 metres (private)
  • 18 years: Boats up to 24 metres
  • 20 years: Vessels over 24 metres
  • 20 years: All commercial licenses

Examination Details

The theoretical exam format varies based on vessel size:

  • Up to 12 metres: 25 multiple-choice questions
  • Up to 24 metres: 50 multiple-choice questions
