Two premier shopping destinations in Dubai have implemented a modern parking solution that eliminates entry barriers. City Centre Deira has launched the system, with Mall of the Emirates scheduled to follow in February 2025.

Payment Timeline and Penalties

Shoppers now have a three-day window to settle their parking fees. The mall management will send:

  • Initial SMS with payment link
  • Reminder message on day two
  • Final reminder call on day three

Failing to pay within this timeframe results in a Dh150 penalty, aligning with UAE parking regulations.

Mall of the Emirates

  • First 4 hours: Complimentary
  • Progressive rates from Dh20 to Dh150
  • Shopping spend of Dh150: Extended free parking
  • VOX Cinema or Ski Dubai visitors: Additional 2-hour grace period
  • Overnight parking (6am-6am): Prohibited, Dh200 fine

City Centre Deira

  • First 3 hours: Complimentary
  • Rates increase from Dh20 to Dh150
  • Weekend and public holiday parking: Free

Technology Implementation

The system employs licence plate recognition cameras to monitor vehicle entry and exit. Drivers receive payment notifications via SMS, with options to:

  • Pay through web-based platform
  • Link account to Parkin wallet for swift transactions
