Dubai Free Sports Fields: Complete Guide to Book Public Courts in 2026

Updated 3 October 2026: new Dubai Public Parks booking site, proof-of-residence rule and current booking limits.

Want a friendly football match or a cricket net session without paying for a private pitch? Dubai Municipality still lets residents and citizens book sports fields in public parks for free, in one-hour slots. Here is how the free sports field booking works in 2026 and what has changed.

Where to book a free sports field in Dubai

You can reserve a court or pitch through two official channels:

  • The Dubai Public Parks website, dubaipublicparks.ae
  • The Destinations and More app (App Store and Google Play)

The service also sits under Recreation and Events on the Dubai Municipality website. Booking is free; you need to register and hold a valid Emirates ID.

How to book: step by step

  1. Open dubaipublicparks.ae or the Destinations and More app and sign in.
  2. Go to the sports field booking service.
  3. Choose your sport (football, cricket, basketball, volleyball or tennis, depending on the park).
  4. Pick the park nearest to your home.
  5. Select a free date and one-hour time slot.
  6. Confirm and save the booking reference number.
  7. Show the reference to the park staff when you arrive.

Booking rules and time slots

The core rules have not changed much, but one matters more now:

  • Neighbourhood residents only. According to Emirates 24|7's May 2026 guide to Dubai Municipality recreation services, the fields are meant for people living nearby and you may be asked for proof of residence. Keep your Emirates ID and a tenancy contract or Ejari on your phone.
  • One hour per booking. Slots are sold in one-hour blocks.
  • Once a week. The same person can book a field only once a week, unless nobody else has reserved it.
  • 15-minute grace period. If you are more than 15 minutes late, park staff can give the field to someone else.
  • Hours. Fields have been bookable from 8am to 11pm, with the last slot starting at 10pm. Check the slot times shown in the app on the day, as parks can change hours in summer or Ramadan.

On-field etiquette

  • Wear proper sportswear and footwear.
  • No eating on the field.
  • Leave the area clean; you are responsible for any damage.
  • The park is not liable for lost or stolen belongings or personal accidents, so keep valuables to a minimum.

Which parks have free sports fields?

More than 30 Dubai public parks offer bookable fields. When this guide was first written, Dubai Municipality listed parks across these areas (check the app for what is open today):

  • Al Barsha and Al Quoz: Al Barsha Pond Park, Al Barsha South Park, the Al Barsha Second parks, Al Quoz Pond Park, Al Quoz Park
  • Deira and the north: Al Nahda Pond Park, Hor Al Anz Park, Al Hamriyah Park, Abu Hail Park, Al Twar Pond Park
  • Central Dubai: Al Safa Park 2, Al Satwa Park, Al Mankhool Park, Jafiliya community facility
