DD 5 Leads Record-Breaking Charity Event Raising Dh83.6 Million
The exclusive DD 5 car plate number sold for an astonishing Dh35 million at Dubai’s ‘Most Noble Number’ charity auction held at the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa. This premium plate was among five special number plates that collectively generated more than Dh75 million in bids.
The charity event, which featured both car plate numbers and fancy mobile numbers, raised a total of Dh83.6 million. All proceeds will support the Fathers’ Endowment campaign, funding healthcare projects in communities with limited access to medical services.
BinGhatti Dominates the Auction Floor
Muhammad BinGhatti, Chairman of Binghatti Holding, emerged as the leading contributor at the event. His representatives, seated at table number 4, successfully secured two premium plates:
- DD 5 for Dh35 million (the night’s most expensive item)
- DD 15 for Dh9.2 million

BinGhatti’s combined bids totalled Dh44.2 million—representing more than half of the auction’s entire revenue.
Other notable sales included:
- DD 12 for Dh12.8 million
- DD 77 for Dh12.6 million
Young Bidder Makes His Mark
Among the diverse group of businesspeople, philanthropists and humanitarians in attendance, one young participant stood out. Affectionately called “the cub” by the hosts, a child representing his father successfully bid Dh6.3 million for plate number DD 24.
Premium Mobile Numbers Also in High Demand
The auction wasn’t limited to vehicle plates. Twenty exclusive mobile numbers collectively fetched over Dh7 million:
- 10 e& UAE mobile numbers raised Dh4.732 million
- 10 du mobile numbers generated Dh3.045 million
The most sought-after mobile numbers were:
- du 0584444444 – Dh1.7 million (highest mobile number bid)
- e& UAE 0565000000 – Dh1.6 million
Abu Dhabi Auction Coming Soon
For those who missed this opportunity, the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), operating under the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, will soon auction 444 special plate numbers.
