In a landmark development for UAE’s transportation sector, Etihad Rail has introduced its first high-speed, all-electric passenger train system. This breakthrough initiative will transform inter-emirate travel, connecting Abu Dhabi and Dubai in a mere 30 minutes.

The advanced railway system boasts impressive specifications:
- Maximum speed: 350 kilometres per hour
- Full electric operation
- Six strategic station locations

Strategic Station Locations
The high-speed rail network will serve passengers through six carefully positioned stations:
Abu Dhabi Stations:
- Reem Island
- Saadiyat
- Yas Island
- Zayed International Airport
Dubai Stations:
- Al Maktoum International Airport vicinity
- Al Jaddaf area
Regular Passenger Service Extension
Alongside the high-speed option, Etihad Rail is introducing a regular passenger service with distinct features:
- Operating speed: 200 kilometres per hour
- Passenger capacity: 400 individuals
- Coverage: All UAE emirates
- Future expansion: Connection to Oman and GCC Railway network
The regular service will include additional stops in:
- Mezeira’a
- Liwa Desert region
- Sharjah
- Fujairah
Project Implementation

Mohammed Al Shehhi, Chief Projects Officer at Etihad Rail, confirms that construction will commence following tender completion. While the implementation timeline remains under consideration, both train systems are technically prepared for operation.
