Dubai International Airport (DXB) has reinforced its status as the globe’s most active international aviation hub, recording an impressive 60.236 million airline seats in 2024. This achievement represents a 7% growth from 2023, according to fresh data from OAG, the worldwide aviation consultancy.

The airport’s performance surpassed pre-pandemic benchmarks, showing a remarkable 12% increase compared to 2019 figures. This success stems from the strategic partnership between Emirates and flydubai, which together serve more than 265 destinations from their Dubai base.

The UAE’s aviation sector celebrated a significant milestone as the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) documented over 1 million air traffic movements in 2024. Emirates Flight 305 from Shanghai marked this historic millionth movement on December 22, 2024.

- London Heathrow secured second place with 48.358 million seats, trailing Dubai by 11.877 million
- Seoul Incheon International claimed third position with 41.633 million seats
- Doha airport maintained its presence in the top 10, ranking 10th with 32.455 million seats
