The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced significant road closures across Dubai starting from 4pm on December 31. Here’s the detailed breakdown of closure timings:
From 4pm:
- Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard
- Financial Centre Street (Lower Deck)
- Al Mustaqbal Street
- Burj Khalifa Street
- Al Asayel Road (Oud Metha Road to Burj Khalifa section)
From 8pm:
- Al Sukuk Street
- Financial Road (Upper level)
From 11pm:
- Sheikh Zayed Road (gradual closure)
Smart Parking Solutions
The RTA has organised additional parking facilities to accommodate New Year’s Eve visitors:
- 20,000 extra parking spaces at:
- Dubai Mall
- Zabeel
- Emaar Boulevard
Alternative parking options include:
- Al Wasl parking lots
- GDRFA parking facilities
- Metro station parking at:
- Centerpoint
- Etisalat e&
- Jebel Ali stations
Free shuttle buses will connect these parking areas to celebration zones.
Important Notice for Downtown Dubai Visitors
If you’re heading to Downtown Dubai, RTA Executive Director of Traffic, Hussain Al Bana, strongly recommends:
- Arriving before 4pm
- Using public transport where possible
- Planning alternative routes if you’re not attending the festivities

Dubai will welcome 2025 with spectacular displays at 36 locations, including:
- Burj Park
- Global Village
- Dubai Festival City Mall
- Al Seef
- Bluewaters
- The Beach at JBR
- Hatta
Special Viewing Areas
The authorities have arranged dedicated viewing zones for:
- Workers: Features include large screens and meal services

Additional Information
- Dubai Water Canal Footbridge and elevators will stop operating from 4pm
- Workers’ viewing areas have been arranged in coordination with the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs
