Important: Legal Requirements

Without proper authorisation, vehicle stickers are illegal in Dubai and attract a Dh500 fine. However, businesses can legally advertise on vehicles by following RTA guidelines.

Application Process

Required Documents

For Commercial Vehicles and Motorcycles:

• Advertisement design showing all vehicle sides with mock-up
• Dubai-issued trade licence copy

For Other Vehicles:

• Full vehicle advertisement design with mock-up
• RTA request letter explaining advertising purpose
• Dubai trade licence copy

For Trailers and Mobile Advertising Vehicles:

• Complete advertisement design with mock-up
• Dubai trade licence with advertising activity

Step-by-Step Application

1. Access RTA website with login credentials
2. Navigate to ‘Permit’ > ‘Permit on Vehicle‘
3. Choose ‘Advertising on Vehicles’ service
4. Submit scanned documents
5. Await technical review (notification via email/SMS)
6. Pay fees online or at Customer Happiness Centres
7. Download permit through Advertising System

Fee Structure 2024

Basic Advertising Options:

• Logo on front doors: Dh250/year
• Complete wrap (excluding windows):
  • Light vehicles: Dh1,000/year
  • Heavy buses: Dh2,500/year
  • Pickup trucks: Dh1,500/year

Special Categories:

• Motorcycles: Dh250/year
• Mobile advertising vehicles: Dh50,000/year
• Event advertising: Dh2,500/week

Additional Dh20 knowledge and innovation fee applies

Design Requirements

Key Guidelines:

• 50% minimum Arabic content
• Trade name must match licence exactly
• No smoking symbols
• No country flags
• No religious symbols
• Maximum 5 images per vehicle side
• No windscreen advertisements
• No 3D images or real person photos

Special Conditions:

• Colour changes need Dubai Police approval
• Real estate ads require Land Department NOC
• Rented vehicles need leasing company permission
• Foreign agency ads need embassy verification
• Brand advertisements require trademark documentation
