Dubai’s hospitality sector continues to thrive, with an impressive 151,417 hotel rooms across 825 establishments. Yet, according to Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), there’s still room for growth in this bustling market.
Record-Breaking Visitor Numbers
The first seven months of 2024 saw Dubai welcome 10.2 million visitors, marking a 3.7% increase from the same period in 2023. This surge in tourism underscores the city’s enduring appeal as a global destination.
Diverse Accommodation Options
Dubai’s hotel landscape caters to various budgets and preferences. Kazim highlighted the city’s range of offerings, from luxurious five-star properties to high-quality three-star hotels that rival international standards.
Luxury Segment Growth
The five-star category has seen the most significant expansion, with a 35% increase in room supply, now boasting over 52,000 rooms.
New Developments
- First half of 2024: Over 2,700 new hotel rooms added
- Expected by end of 2025: An additional 10,100 rooms
Branded Residences: A Rising Trend
The branded residences sector is experiencing rapid growth in Dubai:

- Accor and The Summary Executive Properties signed a deal for Swissôtel’s first stand-alone Branded Residences project in Dubai Islands, set to open in 2027.
- Rove Hotels launched Rove Home Dubai Marina, a 600-unit project targeting active professionals and savvy investors.
Rove’s Ambitious Plans
- Aim to launch 3,000 branded residences over the next five years
- Plans to open 10,000 hotel rooms in the same period
