In a recent move, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has introduced new inspection guidelines for Dubai private schools in the 2024-25 academic year.
Relaxed Inspections for Private Schools
According to the Dubai Media Office (DMO), private schools in Dubai will not undergo comprehensive inspections during the upcoming academic year. Instead, the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB) team will conduct “quality assurance visits” that focus on specific areas to monitor schools’ progress on improvement plans.
Supporting Teaching and Learning
This decision aims to support the teaching and learning process for students, giving schools the opportunity to implement changes to support their development and improvement plans.
New Schools Still Under Full Inspection
However, new private schools in their third year of operation will still complete full inspections. Additionally, schools can request a full inspection for the next academic year, subject to KHDA approval.
Accessing Inspection Reports
Full inspection reports and individual parent summary reports for the 2023-24 academic year are now available on the KHDA website and mobile app.
This new direction marks a significant change in the Dubai private school inspection landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on education in Dubai!
