Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, praised the airline’s incredible achievements, stating that Dubai is now the “world’s airport”, connecting civilizations around the globe.
From Humble Beginnings to Global Aviation Leader
Established over four decades ago, Emirates Airline has defied skeptics and achieved unprecedented success, with over 112,000 employees, connections to 277 cities, and an annual passenger count of over 50 million. The airline’s revenues have surpassed AED 137 billion ($37.3 billion) annually.
Sheikh Mohammed commended the airline’s pivotal role in realizing the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to double the emirate’s foreign trade volume by 2033. The airline’s expansion plans, technological advancements, and sustainability initiatives are expected to drive Dubai’s economic growth.
