The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced remarkable numbers for public transport usage during the Eid Al Adha holiday in 2024. From June 15 to 18, 2024, an astonishing 6.7 million passengers opted for public transportation, shared transportation, and taxis.
Compared to the same period previously, this marks an increase from approximately 6.4 million riders.
To cater to the high demand, RTA provided a diverse range of transportation options during the holiday period.
Breaking Down the Numbers:
- Metro passengers: 2.5 million
- Taxi passengers: 2 million
- Public bus passengers: 1.4 million
- Shared transportation vehicle passengers: 350,000
- Marine transport passengers: 280,000
- Tram passengers: 101,000
It’s clear that the Metro and taxis were the most popular forms of public transport during Eid Al Adha 2024. The RTA’s efforts to provide a range of transportation options have contributed to the significant increase in ridership.
