The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has achieved impressive rankings in the latest Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024 report issued by the World Economic Forum. The country boasts the 5th best roads in the world, 9th most efficient ports, and the 10th most efficient public transport system globally.
UAE’s Road Quality and Infrastructure
According to the report, the UAE ranked 5th globally and 1st among Arab countries in terms of road quality. Furthermore, the country’s ports were ranked 9th globally and 1st among Arab countries in terms of efficiency. The public transport system also received a notable ranking of 10th globally and 2nd among Arab countries.
UAE’s Strategic Planning and Forward-Looking Vision
Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, credited these achievements to the UAE’s forward-looking vision and strategic planning. “These achievements reflect our proactive approach and strategic planning in various sectors and reaffirm the UAE’s ambition to become a globally recognised innovation and excellence hub,” he said.

The Minister emphasized that these rankings would enhance the confidence of international investors seeking a reliable business environment. The UAE aims to develop vibrant sectors and position itself as a leading destination for business and leisure.

Hanan Mansour Ahli, Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, noted that the UAE has become a benchmark for quality infrastructure, adopting the highest standards and best practices across the board. This would help attract foreign investments and enhance the country’s GDP.
