The UAE is poised to further solidify its position as a major global hub for AI research and development, with Core42 gearing up to launch its first consumer-focused AI product. This move coincides with the company’s efforts to enhance its JAIS Chat mobile app, a bilingual English and Arabic chatbot designed to empower Arabic speakers worldwide.
Core42’s EVP, Talal Al Kaissi, revealed that the company anticipates substantial growth in generative AI adoption over the next five years, with a focus on tailored solutions that cater to specific regional needs and industry requirements. The UAE’s prominent leadership in AI has attracted significant interest from international players, resulting in a surge of AI startups and collaborations.
Core42’s latest LLM product, JAIS 30B, has showcased remarkable advancements in summarization and formatting capabilities, delivering responses that are 160% more detailed in Arabic and 233% more detailed in English. This has led to successful implementations across diverse industries, including telecommunications, energy, education, financial services, government services, healthcare, and marketing communications.
The UAE government’s initiatives, such as the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031, have created a conducive environment for AI development, attracting talent and companies specializing in advanced AI. This has solidified the country’s position as a center of gravity for AI-driven transformation.
Core42’s commitment to harnessing AI for societal betterment is evident in its various initiatives, including collaborations with AlTibbi, a MENA-based digital health platform, and the implementation of its ‘Open Finance Programme’ with the UAE central bank. The company’s Board Navigator, an AI board observer, has already seen adoption with several institutions, including International Holding Company (IHC), the UAE’s largest publicly traded entity.
As interest in generative AI and Large Language Models continues to grow, JAIS 30B is poised to play a transformative role in reshaping the way over 400 million Arabic speakers globally can leverage this technology.
