Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced a significant milestone in the UAE’s Emiratisation efforts. The number of Emirati citizens working in the private sector has surpassed 100,000 for the first time. This achievement marks a substantial increase, with 70,000 Emiratis joining the private sector in just two and a half years.

The success of Emiratisation efforts can be attributed to the launch of the Nafis programme, which has provided AED24 billion in support to boost Emiratisation. New legislation has also been introduced to encourage the localisation of the workforce, aiming to drive economic growth across the country.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the importance of coordination between the government and private sector in achieving this milestone. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Nafis programme and the Ministry of Emiratisation and Human Resources, led by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed.

The UAE government aims to create an additional 100,000 jobs for citizens in the next three years, further solidifying the country’s economic growth and development.
