Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was discharged from KD Hospital in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, after being hospitalized for severe dehydration and heat stroke. Khan, the co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders, was rushed to the hospital following his team’s win in the first IPL Qualifier.

Khan’s team made it to the finals after beating Sun Risers Hyderabad in the first Qualifiers. The 58-year-old actor was seen celebrating wildly with the Kolkata players after the match, taking a lap of victory with the team in the scorching heat. However, the exertion took a toll on Khan, who was hospitalized for dehydration.

According to reports, Khan was “suffering from dehydration amid a high temperature of 45-degree Celcius in Ahmedabad.” However, his health was stable, and he received the necessary medical attention. Security was tightened around the hospital to ensure Khan’s safety.

The Kolkata Knight Riders will face the winner of the match between Sun Risers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in the final, scheduled to take place in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, 26 May. The conditions are expected to be more humid but less hot than Ahmedabad.

Khan, who delivered three mega-hits last year – Pathaan, Jawaan, and Dunki – is a beloved figure in the UAE and the Indian film industry. His fans breathed a sigh of relief with the news of his discharge from the hospital.
