In a historic milestone, the number of Emiratis working in the private sector has skyrocketed to nearly 96,000, marking a 170% increase since 2021, according to data shared by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).

This remarkable growth was announced at the launch of the second edition of ‘Making Emiratisation a Success Guide for 2024’ by TASC in cooperation with MoHRE.

Job Satisfaction and Priorities

A study conducted by TASC revealed that 73.67% of Emiratis are satisfied with their current jobs. The top priorities for Emiratis in their careers include work-life balance (62.8%), job security (59%), and career development (58.4%).

Employer Preferences

The survey also found that 52.30% of employers prefer hiring UAE nationals permanently, while 31.80% are open to a mixed approach or hiring UAE nationals on a permanent and contractual basis. Employers are focusing their Emiratisation efforts on various roles, with a strong emphasis on customer service (42.40%) and sales and marketing (42.05%).

The Future of Emiratisation

Ahmad Yousuf Al Nasser, Assistant Undersecretary of National Human Resources Development at MoHRE, emphasized the positive impact of Emiratisation on businesses, laying the framework for long-term economic diversification and growth.

Mahesh Shahdadpuri, founder and CEO of TASC Outsourcing, highlighted the significance of integrating Emiratis into the workforce, stating that 72.47% of candidates are willing to join both the public or private sector.
