Saudi Arabia has witnessed a significant growth in the number of working nurses, reaching a total of over 235,000, according to the Ministry of Health. This 23% increase since 2016 reflects a growing interest in the profession and the Kingdom’s investment in ensuring adequate staffing and high-quality care.
The Ministry of Health credits this growth to its efforts, in partnership with concerned government entities, to implement the Health Sector Transformation Program, a strategy that supports and empowers the nursing profession. The program is one of the key initiatives under Vision 2030, aiming to provide high-quality health services in the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia now boasts 14 universities offering nursing programs, producing qualified Saudi specialists in various fields. These graduates are a valuable resource to the country, contributing to the growth of the healthcare sector.
This significant increase in nurses is a testament to the Kingdom’s commitment to developing its healthcare sector, ensuring that its citizens receive the best possible care.
