After an illustrious career spanning over four decades, Colm McLoughlin, the Executive Vice Chairman & CEO of Dubai Duty Free, has announced his retirement.

A Legacy of Success

Under McLoughlin’s visionary leadership, Dubai Duty Free has grown from a modest $20 million in 1984 to a staggering $2.16 billion in 2023. The company has bagged an impressive 780 awards, with 86 of them attributed to McLoughlin himself.

New Leadership Takes the Reins

Effective June 1st, 2024, Ramesh Cidambi, the current COO of Dubai Duty Free, will succeed McLoughlin as Managing Director. Salah Tahlak, the current Joint COO, will assume the role of Deputy Managing Director. Both Cidambi and Tahlak have played instrumental roles in the company’s retail projects and operational successes.

A Bright Future Ahead

McLoughlin expressed confidence in the leadership of his successors, stating, “Longevity is a key factor in the success of Dubai Duty Free, and both Ramesh and Salah are great examples of this. I am confident that Dubai Duty Free will continue to grow, and I see a very bright future for the operation.”
