Sheikh Mohammed Launches Dubai Council to Shape Emirate’s Future Development
In a significant move to drive the emirate’s growth and competitiveness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has formed the Dubai Council.

The Dubai Council, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed, aims to develop and implement a comprehensive framework for the emirate’s future development, focusing on launching major qualitative projects and transformational initiatives. The council’s objectives include enhancing Dubai’s global competitiveness, attractiveness, and quality of life for citizens, residents, and visitors.
The council’s membership comprises esteemed individuals, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as First Vice Chairman and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Second Vice Chairman. Other notable members include Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The council’s formation is a significant step towards shaping Dubai’s future and cementing its position as a global hub for innovation, tourism, and business. With the Dubai Council, the emirate is poised to take a giant leap forward in its development journey.
By issuing Decree No. (35) of 2024, Sheikh Mohammed has reiterated his commitment to driving progress and excellence in Dubai, paving the way for a brighter future for its citizens and residents.
