The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said that during the holiday seasons of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr, more than 12.5 million passengers passed through Saudi Arabia’s airports. This time frame demonstrated an amazing coordination of efforts across several industries, contributing to an 18% increase in traffic over the prior year.
Increase in Aircraft Activity
The country’s airports were full, handling more than 86,000 inbound and outbound flights. This included regular and chartered flights operated by at least one hundred carriers.
Prime Airports Setting the Standard
King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah led the group in terms of passenger traffic, with a strong footfall of more than 5.38 million. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which handled 3.23 million passengers, came right after. Significantly, Madinah’s Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport recorded an impressive throughput of over 1.04 million passengers. 2.85 million more passengers were served by the combined efforts of other national airports, providing a clear picture of mobility throughout the Kingdom.
These numbers capture both the inflow and outflow of travellers, signifying a season of brisk travel and demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s increasing influence in the aviation industry. Ride the thrill wave and take part in the continuous transformation of the Kingdom’s sky!
