Dubai’s standing as a top travel destination throughout the world is only going to get stronger; in January 2024, the city had a stunning 21% increase in foreign visitor arrivals, totaling 1.77 million. This expansion demonstrates Dubai’s lasting allure and its effective approaches of drawing tourists from around the world.

With nearly 18% of the influx of foreign visitors, Western Europe led the way as the largest source market. The GCC nations came in second with 311,000 tourists, or about 18% of the total. South Asia performed quite well as well, accounting for 294,000 visits, or almost 17% of the total.

Interestingly, 262,000 or 15% of the total number of visits came from Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Eastern Europe, making them the fourth-largest contributors. In the meantime, the MENA area took fifth place with 211,000 visits. Following suit were the Americas, North and Southeast Asia, and the United States, which increased the variety of foreign visitors to Dubai.

These numbers are highlighted in the Department of Economy and Tourism’s most recent Dubai Tourism Performance Report, which reflects the city’s dynamic appeal and strategic efforts to preserve its standing as a top tourist destination for foreign visitors.
