United Arab Emirates, Dubai – In 2024, there will be a significant shift in the Middle East’s employment situation, especially in the food and beverage (F&B) industry. A transition towards an employer-led market, which provides businesses with a wider range of talent in light of global trends, is predicted by hiring specialists. Salary increases are anticipated to be uneven this year, unlike in recent years, with larger companies probably receiving the largest increases. Stagnant remuneration packages may be perceived by startups and SMEs, indicating a need for more creative strategies to draw in and keep qualified workers.

Greg Wright, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Food People, highlights the significance of inventiveness in creating alluring total reward systems, given that the gap between what firms can afford and what candidates demand in terms of compensation and benefits (C&B) is likely to grow. “It’s not just about salary increments but about attracting and retaining talent through more competitive total rewards,” says Wright.

This expected transition away from the employee-driven market, which was previously dominating, might usher in a new era for the UAE’s fast-food and beverage industry, which is expected to generate close to $40 billion in revenue this year.

The UAE is still a top choice for foreign job seekers despite growing living expenses because of its safety and stability in terms of finances. Employers are urged, therefore, to refute the myth of the “get rich quick” and emphasise the variety of options that the contemporary UAE has to offer.

Saudi Arabia is also becoming a very attractive option for job seekers because of its efforts to diversify its economy. According to the changing nature of the employment market, regional businesses might be able to draw in more talent than global names by 2024 thanks to persistent social media advertising and a focus on workplace culture.

Both companies and job seekers need to adjust as the Middle East labour market goes through these big changes in order to successfully navigate the changing environment. For those who are willing to explore them, the region provides a multitude of chances, whether it is travelling to Saudi Arabia and seeing new things or working in Dubai’s vibrant food and beverage industry.
