Katerina Giannouka has recently announced her resignation as the CEO of Jumeirah Group, a position she held for just over a year. An internal document, shared by Amit Kaushal, CEO of Dubai Holding, revealed that Giannouka’s departure is due to personal reasons and her desire to seek new professional paths.

The internal communication highlighted Giannouka’s appreciation for her tenure at Jumeirah Group and her intentions to remain in Dubai for the foreseeable future. Though her next steps remain unspecified, Giannouka expressed her gratitude towards the opportunity to lead Jumeirah Group and her best wishes for the company’s future endeavors.

In the interim period, Thomas B. Meier, the Group’s Chief Operating Officer since 2021, will assume the role of CEO temporarily until a permanent successor is appointed.

The departure of Giannouka, who took over the CEO role in December 2022 with ambitions to expand Jumeirah’s portfolio and elevate its global presence by 2030, was unexpected. Jumeirah Group is anticipated to release an official statement regarding this leadership transition.
