Dubai International Airport, known as DXB, has outdone itself by hosting a groundbreaking 87 million passengers in 2023, showcasing a significant growth of 31.7% compared to the previous year. The achievement underscores Dubai’s aviation sector’s ongoing commitment to excellence and growth, reflecting the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Flight movements at DXB reached an impressive count of 416,405, with more than 77.5 million baggages processed efficiently, boasting a remarkable 99.8% success rate in baggage handling. The efficiency of services is further highlighted by the minimal average waiting times, with passport control and security checks taking just seven minutes and four minutes, respectively.
December emerged as the busiest month, registering a total of 22.4 million visitors, reinforcing DXB’s position as a leading global aviation hub. The airport’s extensive network now spans 262 destinations across 104 countries, with London, Riyadh, and Mumbai being the top three destinations.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum celebrated this achievement, reflecting on Dubai’s ambition to remain a top-tier global aviation destination, prioritizing connectivity, service excellence, and innovation.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, commended the dedicated efforts of the DXB team, citing their relentless pursuit of excellence as a key factor in breaking records.
