In a significant expansion of its rehabilitation offerings, Reem Hospital in Abu Dhabi has unveiled the Reem Neuroscience Centre, a comprehensive facility dedicated to mental health care. This state-of-the-art centre is set to revolutionize the delivery of mental health services in the region, offering both outpatient and inpatient supports through its psychiatric department.
Designed to cater to a broad spectrum of mental health needs, the Reem Neuroscience Centre houses a distinguished team of psychiatrists and clinical psychologists. Their expertise spans across various domains, including psychiatry, psychotherapy, addiction treatment, and child psychiatry. With over 25 treatment rooms dedicated to these services, the Centre is well-equipped to assist more than 6,000 patients each month.
A notable feature of the Centre is its specialised laboratory designed for diagnosing attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), providing a much-needed resource for both patients and practitioners. The Centre is also equipped with specialised beds to address complex conditions like eating disorders, mood disorders, psychosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and the nuances of child psychiatry.
In line with its mission to provide comprehensive mental health care, the Reem Neuroscience Centre has initiated the addition of 25 new inpatient psychiatric beds, with plans for further expansion to meet the increasing demand for specialized mental health services.
Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, DoH Undersecretary, praised the efforts of Reem Hospital in enhancing the well-being of the community. She emphasized the Department of Health’s (DoH) dedication to maintaining the quality of healthcare services, ensuring Abu Dhabi remains a prime global healthcare destination.
Zaid Al Siksek, Chairman of Reem Hospital, highlighted the establishment of the Reem Neuroscience Centre as a response to the DoH’s call for a holistic approach to health, emphasizing mental well-being alongside physical health. This initiative underscores the hospital’s commitment to improving community quality of life through advanced healthcare services.
