Dubai has once again placed itself at the forefront of innovation and safety by launching the world’s first mobile floating fire station. This groundbreaking development underscores Dubai Civil Defence’s commitment to enhancing fire and rescue services while promoting environmental sustainability across the region.

The mobile floating fire station represents a significant shift towards improving the efficiency of marine activity safety, offering broader coverage and faster response times to maritime incidents. Unique in its design, the station is both sustainable and cost-effective, costing 70% less than its traditional counterparts.

Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, the Director General of Dubai Civil Defence, highlighted the project’s alignment with Dubai’s ambition to become a global leader in safety and security. By shortening the response time to underwater incidents to an ambitious four minutes, Dubai is setting a new benchmark in marine firefighting capabilities.

This innovative station not only bolsters the city’s maritime navigation safety index but also seamlessly integrates into Dubai’s strategic plan to enhance its infrastructure and services. Positioned strategically across Dubai’s key maritime zones, the floating station significantly boosts the emirate’s capacity to manage sea accidents effectively.

Sustainability is at the core of the floating fire station’s design, reflecting Dubai’s dedication to environmental preservation. Accommodating up to 16 crew members, the station boasts an eco-conscious build and the unique advantage of mobility at a speed of 11 miles per hour, further reducing its environmental impact.
