The private sector in Saudi Arabia has hit a new milestone, with more than 11 million employees making their mark on the job market as reported by the National Labour Observatory (NLO) for January 2024.

Providing granular insights, the NLO’s recent publication sheds light on the array of employment statistics within the Saudi private sector as of January’s close. The report not only enumerates the total workforce, inclusive of males and females, citizens, and residents but also analyzes net job growth, emphasizing fresh entrants and first-jobbers.

As of January, the Saudi private sector has witnessed an unprecedented peak in its workforce, tallying at 11,054,576 individuals. This surge is attributed to strategic initiatives by the human resources and social development sectors, burgeoning private sector job openings, sweeping economic reforms, and robust governmental backing.

Highlighting the specifics, the NLO report states that Saudi citizens accounted for 2,327,858 employed in the private sector in January. Of this, males numbered at 1,375,478 while females followed with an impressive count of 952,380. Additionally, the private sector hosted a substantial body of residents, with 8,726,718 jobs filled, where the split stood at 8,386,925 men versus 339,793 women.

Furthermore, January saw a considerable influx of fresh talent, with 32,447 Saudi nationals embarking on their maiden professional journey in the private sector.
