In a relentless bid to fortify the integrity of healthcare services, the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi (DoH) has executed rigorous enforcement actions against a number of medical facilities discovered breaching health laws and guidelines.

These steps underscore the DoH’s unwavering commitment to the community welfare and the assurance of superior health services.

Leading the charge, a healthcare center is now grappling with a significant penalty of one million dirhams, alongside meticulous investigations ensnaring several practitioners for further examination due to suspicions of contriving deceptions to misappropriate funds, specifically in their dental service offerings.

Enforcement Crackdown on Healthcare Violations

The meticulous audit trail led to the shutdown of eight consequential healthcare institutions, including an occupational medicine center, a diagnostic laboratory, and a lead medical hub found in violation of the Federal Law No. 14 of 2014 against the spread of infectious diseases.

These facilities exhibited laxity in their adherence to mandatory electronic reporting standards, with an evident breach of public health statistics reporting as per the DoH’s stipulations.

Adding to the infractions, the closures affected four home care providers falling short on internal regulatory benchmarks for services and rife with infractions such as disregard for obtaining proper patient consent, oversight in the explication of treatment risks, and sidestepping approvals for staffing contracts.

Violation points extended to critical concerns like ill-equipped emergency response with medical supplies or devices, unauthorized healthcare facility access by non-certified individuals, and compromised protocols for managing medical supplies and patient records.
