In a bold move set to shape the future, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, has rolled out a strategic plan called the Dubai Social Agenda 33. This initiative aspires to accomplish a remarkable goal: to double the number of Emirati families in Dubai within the coming decade.
This groundbreaking endeavor, which coincides with Sheikh Mohammed’s 18th anniversary at the helm of the Cabinet, is poised to elevate the standard of living for citizens by improving housing, healthcare, and life quality. With the emirate’s diverse population exceeding 3.65 million people, driven by its attractiveness to expatriates, the focus now shifts toward boosting the Emirati demographic.
The Dubai Social Agenda 33 is more than just a decade-long plan; it carries the motto “Family, the Foundation of the Nation,” supported by an AED208 billion budget aimed at enhancing citizen welfare. Sheikh Mohammed highlights the emphasis on providing top-tier housing, ensuring social values and cohesion, and future-proofing the next generation through healthcare and skills development.
Central to this strategy is fostering a robust Emirati presence, both numerically and in terms of quality of life. Sheikh Mohammed articulates this sentiment, stressing that the nation’s essence is its people, not merely figures or edifices.
The agenda’s scope is impressive, targeting global leadership in healthcare and education, and aiming to triple Emirati employment within the private sector. A cornerstone of the plan is nurturing a social care system that prioritizes protection, care, and citizen empowerment.
The leadership’s vision for Dubai under the Dubai Social Agenda 33 is to place the city among the top three globally for living standards and to rank within the top ten for life expectancy. A generous AED65 billion housing initiative supplements these ambitions by providing high-quality housing for citizens over the next twenty years, with a fourfold increase in beneficiaries.
In support of this vision, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, announced significant milestones, including the distribution of over 3,000 residential plots to citizens, reaffirming this commitment to fostering a stable and prosperous community.
In this era of strategic development, Dubai’s leadership is emphatic about the importance of family as the pivotal point for the forthcoming phase—underscoring protection, empowerment, and cohesion.
