The United Arab Emirates is actively seeking to expand its workforce by inviting skilled workers from Vietnam. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, UAE’s Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, recently met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to discuss workforce development.

A pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed as a testament to this burgeoning relationship. This MoU is a clear step towards bolstering cooperation in labor matters, with a focus on integrating qualified Vietnamese laborers into the dynamic UAE job market.

The arrangement specifically addresses the exchange of labor-related studies and data to ensure all protocols and legislation are respected. This collaboration underscores a dedication to enhancing labor relations and sharing the benefits derived from Vietnamese workers’ increased presence in the UAE, a country praised for attracting talent and maintaining a competitive working environment.

Key discussions also revolved around several innovative systems and labor laws recently enacted in the UAE. These initiatives include the optional end-of-service “Savings Scheme” devised to provide workers with the means to earn investment returns, ensuring their financial stability.

Moreover, the Unemployment Insurance Scheme witnessed an impressive registration of over 6.7 million participants within the first year. Other groundbreaking programs like the Worker Protection Programme showcase the UAE’s commitment to fostering a labor market that emphasizes stability, wellbeing for employees, and an equitable balance of rights between workers and employers.

Symbolizing the mutual agreement, the MoU was formally signed by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar on behalf of the UAE and Dao Ngoc Dung, Vietnam’s Minister of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs.
