As job seekers in Dubai and the UAE eagerly look for promising opportunities, Air India Express’s latest expansion plans could be a game-changer. In a recent interview conducted by Khaleej Times, Air India Express Managing Director Aloke Singh revealed strategic moves to upscale operations across the Gulf, particularly in the UAE. The focus on increasing capacity to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, and notably the UAE signifies a potential uptick in job creation within the region.
With an existing robust schedule inclusive of 195 weekly flights connecting India and the UAE, the budget airline is concentrating on enhancing connections between Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in India and the Gulf. This move aims to streamline travel for both visitors and residents between the Gulf countries and sprawling Indian locales.
The budget carrier has notably added flights to the UAE, amidst a broader rationalisation with its parent company, Air India. This initiative sees a tailored approach where Air India will cater to premium traffic, while Air India Express focuses on value-conscious routes such as Surat-Sharjah and Goa-Dubai.
Post-privatisation and reintegration under the Tata group’s wing, Air India Group successfully coupled Air India Express with fellow subsidiary AirAsia India. This synergy enhances service delivery and operational efficiency, promising robust air connectivity within a six-hour radius, potentially including destinations like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Thailand.
But it’s not just about routes. Air India Express is on a recruiting spree, planning to bring on board up to 1,250 pilots and cabin crew in the approaching months to support its burgeoning network in domestic, Gulf, and Southeast Asian sectors. This initiative translates to a rich vein of job opportunities ranging from frontline aviation roles to backend support systems.
Moreover, with an ambitious fleet growth strategy, aiming to hit a century of aircraft by December 2024 and gradually expand to 175 over five years, Air India Express is facilitating an employment landscape filled with potential and growth.
Job seekers in Dubai and the UAE could be witnessing one of the most exciting phases for career opportunities within the aviation sector, hinged on Air India Express’s strategic expansion. As these plans materialize, the airline’s growth might just signal your career taking off in the dream destination of Dubai.
