Etihad Airways has reported a significant rise in passenger traffic for 2024, witnessing a 38% increase so far compared to the previous year. In May alone, the airline carried 1.5 million passengers, averaging an 84% passenger load factor.

Impressive Passenger Growth Statistics

Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves highlighted that the year-to-date passenger count has surged to 7.2 million, marking an increase of two million passengers compared to the same timeframe in 2023. This increase contributed to a solid year-to-date load factor of 85%, reflecting robust demand and capacity expansion.

Expanded Fleet and Advanced Aircraft

Etihad Airways has expanded its fleet by 15 aircraft over the past year, bringing the total to 90. In May, the airline introduced the first of six A321neos anticipated for 2024. These advanced aircraft enhance network frequency and demonstrate a 20% improvement in fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions reduction.

Year-Over-Year Passenger Numbers

Through May 2024, Etihad’s rolling 12-month passenger numbers have exceeded 16 million. The airline’s continued growth is further underpinned by its strategic investments in modern and eco-friendly aircraft, ensuring operational efficiency and sustainability.

Etihad Airways continues to underscore its positive growth trajectory with substantial increases in passenger figures and fleet advancements, marking 2024 as a year of significant progress.
