Abu Dhabi’s population has surged by 83% since 2011, according to the latest census results. The capital city of the UAE now boasts a population of 3,789,860 people, with males accounting for 67% and females making up 33% of the total population.

The census data also reveals that the median age of the population in Abu Dhabi is 33 years. The Abu Dhabi region has the largest population, representing 66% of the total population, followed by Al Ain with 27%, and Al Dhafra with 7%.

The employed population has seen a significant 82% increase since 2011, with 2,522,390 individuals now making up the workforce. White-collar workers have seen a 109% surge, while blue-collar workers have experienced 65% growth.

The census also highlights the significant growth in residential and non-residential units, with a 66% increase since 2011, totalling 754,555 units.

Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, and Chairman of the Higher Census Committee, emphasized the importance of the census data in supporting decision-making and monitoring trends in the emirate.

This comprehensive population census is a testament to the exceptional coordination and integration among government entities, providing modern and real-time databases on population characteristics and geographical distribution.
